Starting a few weeks ago, I began working with a dietician who specializes in helping people with digestive disorders (me me me!), and it’s been going pretty well so far! The first step has been helping me work through an elimination diet to identify what will make my body feel better and worse. I started off by eating from a pretty limited pool of foods that excludes all refined sugar, gluten, packaged food, and a good portion of fruits, vegetables, and proteins.
That was going pretty well, but then we decided we should also cut some of the more starchy foods plus all dairy. And all happiness. Ha ha?
As I look back on my past year as a twenty two year old, I decided to reminisce about my favorite new recipes I made last year. Oh hello scrumptious cinnamon berry bread! Nice to see you again! Banana cake! Why on earth haven’t I made you in 6 months?! Come back into my life.
My collection of recipes kind of confuses me. I see a few favorite crock pot recipes, but on the other side of the coin, baked cheesecakes and double-layer cakes. One involves throwing meat in a pot, and another requires carefully separating a dozen egg whites and then sweet talking them into not collapsing in the oven. You know, pretty much the same thing.
I hope you find some new favorites from last year! Can’t wait to find new favorites this coming year!
At the beginning of February, I ended my time at the Academies (hold back the waterworks, Rachel!) and said goodbye to these wonderful coworkers who mean the world to me! They truly are the best people, and I’m missing them so much already!
