Week Highlights with a Side of Links

This past week has been a busy one.

Aaron woke up in the early hours of the morning on Monday to work on a website for work, and still made time to make me bacon and eggs in bed. Whatta guy. I’ll tell you. Thanks for being my valentine, Aaron!

Aaron and I finished watching Prison Break, and it was a surprisingly emotional ending. We could have done with less gore, but a good show overall!

We took some family pictures with Aaron’s family over Christmas break, and we finally got them all back from the photographer! They turned out really well! I’ll share some of my favorites later this week. It’s fun to have an updated picture of Aaron and me!

I’ve managed to get into a routine of reading my jazz textbook during my metro commute, so I’m finally making some significant strides in my online classes. Let’s hope the motivation continues!

We had a real snow day (as in it snowed 6 inches instead of just threatening to snow like normal) on Thursday, and I fully soaked in staying at home with a recipe from my favorite new cookbook, Homemade with Love. The vanilla blueberry waffles were primo.

Thankfully, the city opened back up today just in time to head into a 3-day weekend.

One of the editors here remembered when I told her a few months ago that I like dried mangoes, and she brought me a bag for Valentine’s Day! I was absolutely giddy! Cindy is such a wonderful woman.

Aaron and I are planning on celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight by chowing down on some cheesy fondue tonight with a chocolate fondue for dessert (yum). Then we’re planning on eating my favorite homemade ice cream cake for my birthday tomorrow (22 years young!) just to round things out. Is it a problem that we celebrate holidays by the foods we eat? If Aaron and I are feeling really adventurous, we might go to Colonial Williamsburg on Presidents Day. Here’s to a fun weekend! Enjoy some links!

I’m obsessed with the latest episode of the podcast from Radiolab called Black Box. I keep telling everyone all about it because it’s so thought provoking! Check it out!

This hobby would totally make my commute more entertaining.

combination of all the things I love.

How funny would it be to decorate my office with this art?

I find this spoof on Starbucks hilarious. Although, their caramel apple ciders are amazing.

Obsessed with typography art. How perfect is Helvetica? (The movie about it is pretty interesting, too.)

Looks like I need to throw more parties so I can decorate with these fun decorations!

How about I just decorate my whole house with typography? OK, done.

These donuts are happening. Probably tomorrow. And every day after that.

Aaaand I kind of want to eat them with this mint chocolate milk. Yes, I am my father’s daughter.

I should look at this website every weekend to inspire me to keep things more organized.

I am absolutely obsessed with corgis. GAH.

Oh DC Metro System, you little freak show.

This rant about kale cracks me up. I for one am a wee bit tired of all of my bloggers cooking with it every day. Lay off, world!

♥ Happy Valentine’s Day! ♥

Seriously, you guys are our TV show/you tube soulmates. I can’t tell you how many times we watched that kale video. “I finished the whole pint, because I’m America!”

Happy almost birthday girly! I loved prison break. That show was weirdly addicting. I normally don’t dig violence. Maybe that’s the was breaking bad is? I don’t get why people like breaking bad…

Yeah, I don’t think I could handle Breaking Bad either.
