Another week is over. Madness. I am adjusting more to a full-time work schedule, finding the Metro less charming than I did before, but finding DC more charming than ever. I’ve learned that if I see my train pulling up at the platform as Aaron and I pull up into the station, I have enough time to run through the parking lot, swat my metro card at the sensors, run up the escalator, and still make it before the doors close. You wouldn’t believe how valuable that information is. Also, the area where Aaron drops me off is called the “Kiss and Ride,” aptly named for the people dropping off a spouse or loved one at the train station each morning. I find that adorable.
I made the tough decision to put in my 2-weeks notice at Anthropologie. I truly have loved working there, but I have become very overwhelmed trying to balance working and finishing classes, as well as keeping the apartment from exploding. They have been so wonderful to me, and at a different time, I would have loved to stay. Anthropologie will always be one of my special happy places for me. Sigh.
We’re so excited to take it easy tonight with some homemade pizza
and an Iron Man 3 redbox. We’ve been waiting to see it for months, and I’m so excited that all of the summer hits are finally in Redbox! Score!
We’re planning on heading into DC to go to the National Gallery of Art and the National Museum of American History tomorrow. I can’t wait to see Dorothy’s ruby red slippers and Julia Child’s kitchen, not to mention hanging out with my BFF Rembrandt
I thought I’d share some of my favorite links from this week, because we all have much more time for browsing the web on a weekend, right?
I was fascinated to learn why we cook with large eggs
Important information for maple syrup
lovers like me and Aaron.
